The summer will swing in Hackettstown this year as the "Jazz in July" series
returns to the air conditioned Centenary Theatre on the campus of Centenary College for four consecutive Saturdays,
beginning July 10th. The concerts feature four major jazz artists/groups who have established themselves as great
players in the world of jazz.

This special gala celebration will christen the new Lackland Center on September 24th with a champagne reception
and a performance by Maureen McGovern. Called "The Stradivarious Voice," McGovern is a Grammy-Award-winning
artist who also garnered the Oscar Award for her recording "The Morning After." Continuously
recording,
as well as performing in such Broadway productions as "Nine", "The Pirates of Penzance, and "Three-Penny
Opera", McGovern recently won the Drama Desk nomination for her Broadway performance as "Marmee" in "Little
Women, The Musical."
The "Curtain Up" reception for the Lackland Center will begin at 6 PM, followed by the 8 PM performance,
with a private post-show gathering with the artist for CSC sponsors. |

Neil Simons comic masterpiece Set in the 1970s, The Prisoner of Second Avenue follows the life of a married couple living in Manhattan's Upper East Side after the husband, Mel, has lost his job and the economic crisis and urban life pushes him towards a complete nervous breakdown, with only his wife and eccentric family to offer support.
