Join Amalia and Georg to discover the identity of their true loves... and of all the twists and turns along the way!

The Robber Bridegroom

Book and Lyrics by Alfred Uhry
Music by Robert Waldman

Saturday, August 5 at 8pm
Sunday, August 6 at 1pm
Friday, August 11 at 8pm
Saturday, August 12 at 2pm
Sunday, August 13 at 7pm

A rousing, bawdy Southern fairytale from the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Driving Miss Daisy! The score, by Robert Waldman, is meant to be played by a small band onstage – and it's one of the only genuine bluegrass scores ever heard in a Broadway musical.

Set in eighteenth-century Mississippi, the show follows Jamie Lockhart, a rascally robber of the woods, as he courts Rosamund, the only daughter of the richest planter in the country. The proceedings go awry, however, thanks to a case of double-mistaken identity. Throw in an evil stepmother who's intent on Rosamund's demise, her pea-brained henchman and a hostile talking head-in-a-trunk, and you have a rollicking country romp.

Brighton beach memoirs

by Neil Simon

Tuesday, August 8 at 7pm
Wednesday, August 9 at 7pm
Thursday, August 10 at 7pm

Dreaming of baseball and girls, Eugene must cope with the mundane existence of his family life in Brooklyn: formidable mother, overworked father, and his worldly older brother Stanley. Throw into the mix his widowed Aunt Blanche and her two young (but rapidly aging) daughters and you have a recipe for hilarity, served up Simon-style.

Performances for Brighton Beach Memoirs will be held in the Edith Kutz Theatre located in the Lackland Performing Arts Center.
