Derek Smith
Derek Smith World’s Most Recorded Commercial / Jazz Pianist A jazz pianist noted for his versatility and elegance.
Smith may be heard on recordings from the popular Burt Bacharach/Dionne Warwick and Steve Lawrence/Eydie Gorme tracks,
with Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy deFranco, Louis Bellson, Milt Hinton & Clark Terry. He played in Doc Severinsen's "Tonight
Show" band for seven years. He also served as Benny Goodman's pianist, was musical director of the CBS television
program, "Musical Chairs," and performed in the soundtracks of the films "The Glass Menagerie," "The Wiz," "Hannah
and Her Sisters" and "Everyone Says I Love You."
He and Hyman are heard as a team in Woody Allen's "Bullets Over
Broadway."Active in TV and recording, he was soon recognized as one of New York's top studio musicians performing
with a who's who of show business from Sinatra to Pavarotti, from Placido Domingo to Perry Como and Robert Palmer.
His trio's album "Love For Sale" was nominated for a Grammy award. He has made three tours of Japan and returned
from a tour of the British Isles with the Benny Goodman Alumni Band.
Rio Clemente
Rio Clemente Master Jazz Pianist / The Bishop of Jazz
This master pianist mixes a strong classical background with a rich knowledge of jazz history, then adds an amazing sense of creativity and interpretation. He’s played
Manhattan’s famed Birdland, The Oak Room at the Algonquin Hotel, The West Bank Café’s
Laurie Beechman Theater, The New York Friars Club, The Sylvia & Danny Kaye Theatre at Hunter College, The Player’s Club.
Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. After several television appearances, Rio advanced professionally to playing at the JVC Jazz
Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center.
He has entertained audiences in Europe,
Bermuda, the Virgin Islands and Antigua. He has performed at the United Nations and has appeared with the Jefferson Symphony
in Golden, CO, with the Livingston (NJ) Symphony and with ensemble groups like the Morris Choral Society and Orchestra. He
has performed from coast to coast for senators, governors, mayors and other dignitaries. He has played jazz clubs from Manhattan
to Cape Cod and from Florida to California.
Bill Mays
Bill Mays Jazz Pianist Connoisseur, Composer and Arranger
A jazz pianist known for his compositional and arranging talents. In addition to leading his own bands Bills resume includes the most important musicians of the era: Ron Carter, Al Cohn, Eddie Daniels, Ray Drummond, Benny Golson, Mel Lewis, Charles McPherson, Bob Mintzer, Gerry Mulligan, Rufus Reid, Maria Schneider Orchestra, Marvin Stamm, Clark Terry, Toots Thielemans,Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Paul Winter and Phil Woods. He has played such notable New York venues as Birdland, the Blue Note, Bradley's, Carnegie Hall, Guggenheim Museum, Iridium, Jazz Standard, Lincoln Center, MOMA, Smoke, Steinway Pianos, the Village Gate and the Village Vanguard.
Bill worked jazz gigs with LA’s best players, including Buddy Collette, Harold Land, Shelly Manne, Bud Shank, Art Pepper, and the Kenton Jr. Neophonic Orchestra. He was a long-time member of the Bobby Shew Quintet, led a piano-bass-guitar trio featuring Danny Embrey, did some two-piano recordings with Alan Broadbent and had a working band that featured Ernie Watts & Abe Laboriel.
Sean Smith
has been part of the international jazz scene for more than 20 years. He has appeared in many of
the major jazz rooms and concert halls all over the world. He has toured extensively in North and South America, throughout
Europe and the Mediterranean, and as far away as Russia, Turkey, Morocco, and Japan. Sean has performed with many jazz
superstars including Gerry Mulligan, Phil Woods, Benny Carter, Flip Phillips, Clark Terry, Johnny Griffin, Lee Konitz,
Art Farmer, and Tom Harrell. He has also been the accompanist of choice for such world-renowned vocalists as Peggy Lee,
Rosemary Clooney, Mark Murphy, Jimmy Scott, and Andy Bey. Sean has also performed and recorded with up-and-coming vocalist
Kate McGarry.
Tim Horner
Tim Horner Drums & Percussion
Tim Horner has mastered a wide variety of instruments including drums, percussion, viola, and piano. Elvin
Jones, Mel Lewis, and Billy Hart have influenced Horner’s traditional and nuanced, yet dynamic, modern jazz style.
Originally from Virginia, Horner, now a New Jersey resident, started playing the drums and violin/viola at age ten. He
has played with Hank Jones, Miroslav Vitous, Rufus Reid, and Pepper Adams, and spent 11 years with The Maria Schneider
Orchestra. Horner has recorded approximately 300 recordings as a sideman, and he is currently writing music for his first
recording as a leader.
