Centenary Stage Company is a not-for-profit theatre dedicated to bringing the performing arts to the Warren, Sussex, Morris and Hunterdon County areas. Our actors are a part of the Actors Equity Association, the professional union for actors. We are an associate member of The New Jersey Theatre Alliance.

The Centenary Performing Arts Guild is our producing organization.  Not only do we offer the professional plays of our Stage Company but also a wide variety of professional and high quality musical and dance events throughout the year.  You will find that all are presented at very affordable prices.

Carl Wallnau - July 2009This last season was terrific and we have you, our patrons, the best audiences in New Jersey to thank for our success. Over the past several seasons we have seen our outreach programs expand, our offerings diversify, our performances celebrated and our audiences multiply. Your support is one reason CSC will be represented by three, (yes three!) productions in New York City this year. Two plays developed in our Women Playwrights Project will transfer to New York: THE UNFORTUNATES (2011-12 CSC Season Event), entered in this years Fringe Festival and THE ENGLISH BRIDE (2012-13 CSC Season Event), opening at 59e59 in October. In addition, BREAKFAST WITH MUGABE (2010-11 CSC Season Event), the inaugural production in our Black Box space, will be opening at the Signature Theatre in August. None of this would have been possible without your support. Now the obvious question is, what do we do for an encore? Well, read on friends and get a sneak peek into 2013-2014.

We kick off the season with our GALA performance and who better to highlight than the great BETTY BUCKLEY, one of Broadway's greatest stars. From CATS to SUNSET BOULEVARD, Betty Buckley has dominated the stage like no other, and we are pleased to bring her to the Centenary Stage for our 2013-2014 season opening GALA!

Our theatre series kicks off with the comedy/thriller DEATHTRAP followed by the hit musical version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, The Musical that so wowed our audiences two years ago. If laughter is the best medicine, than get a dose of David Ives adaptation of THE LIAR, about a young man who can't tell the truth and his servant who can't tell a lie. The Black Box Festival is returning with three weeks of wonderful theatre in the intimate KUTZ Theatre featuring MIRACLES AND MINDGAMES showcasing magic and illusion, BITTERSUITE, a musical revue performed by some of Broadways best performers, and the inspired silliness of THE ESSENCE-A YIDDISH DIM SUM which can't really be explained but just needs to be experienced…and no, you don't have to be Jewish to understand it.

Our concert series will include the celebrated Irish musical group LÚNASA performing on St. Patrick's Day, IGOR BUTMAN AND THE MOSCOW JAZZ ORCHESTRA, swingiest big band on the planet, and BISHOP TOWNSLEY's JUBILEE back for another performance. His show was the hit of 2011! The NEW JERSEY BALLET returns performing BALANCHINE/ROBBINS EVENING and the delightful CINDERELLA! We have expanded our Family Series featuring five great performers on Sunday afternoons! These include SPOOKTACULAR and THE GIZMO GUYS, plus new shows by THE CATSKILL PUPPET THEATRE, illusionist BRAD ROSS, and Michael Dubois SOLO CIRCUS.

I started out just to mention a few and have gotten carried away by the wealth of talent and events that we are presenting this season. So much more is planned and there are numerous options and flex passes available.

Give yourself and your family the gift of music, theatre and dance. Join us for what promises to be an extraordinary 2013-2014. You won't regret it!

Sincerely,
Carl Wallnau
