"Walt Michael has been
setting standards in acoustic music, ... From the coal fields of West Virginia to the closing ceremonies of the 1980 Winter Olympics, Walt Michael has brought the distinctive sound of the hammered dulcimer to an estimated 900 million listeners in a career spanning 30 years. On Saturday, April 7 at 8PM, Walt Michael and Company returns to the Centenary Stage with an exciting program encompassing the dynamic influences of Folk, Celtic, acapella Gospel, Bluegrass, and old-time Southern Appalachian. Considered to be a virtuoso of tremendous influence in the revival of the hammered dulcimer, as well as being a great singer, Michael has recorded ten albums, appeared at the Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center and toured extensively throughout the US, Canada, Europe and the U.K. Walt Michael's music has been heard on ABC-TV, NBC's Tonight Show, Broadway, BBC, TNN, CBC and PBS. With an emphasis on the virtuosity of its individual members, the Walt Michael and Company ensemble string band consists of Evan Stover on fiddle, mandolin and guitar, Frank Orsini on fiddle and viola, and Tom Wetmore on the double bass. Performances at the Centenary Stage Company and Performing Arts Guild are made possible through the generous support of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, The New Jersey State Council on the Arts, The Tran Rhodes Estate, American Airlines (the official airline of CSC) and CSC members and sponsors. ## Tickets How to Purchase Tickets
