Celtic Music Brings the Taste of Ireland
Audiences in Hackettstown may find themselves dancing an Irish Jig when the Celtic musical ensemble, "Emerald City" comes to the Centenary Stage on Saturday, Mar, 27th at 8 PM. Drawing from a rich tradition of folk, popular, classical, and world music genres, the Emerald City Ensemble blend and bend traditional Celtic music into their own unique style, with a flair for creating imaginative arrangements that showcase the quality musicianship of the band. The fiddle, the guitar, flutes, whistles, mandolin, vocals, piccolo, penny whistle, drums, and more combine in a creative and unexpected mix of musical genres which often yield humorous moments for both the band and the audience. The band's Celtic eclectic style, combined with first-rate instrumentation, powerful, tight harmonies, and charismatic stage presence results in a high-energy, "gut-busting" performance which is reported to leaving audiences crying out for more. The band features Greg Geist on acoustic guitar, banjo and vocals, Moe Jerant on drums, percussion and vocals, LA Williams on fiddle, mandolin and guitar, Nora Suggs on flute, piccolo, pennywhistle and pipes, and Bill Fox on bass, mandolin, synthesizors, saxophone and harmony.
